The project is called "Green Week". We organized an open-conference at our school with the topic environment protection and climate change education. The event was connected to Earth Day (22. April). On the first day, we held a GREEEN Conference with the participation of local and neighbouring teachers and students. The lecturers were Eszter Sárosi and Edina Kump from a company called "Eco-Pack Ltd." The topics of the presentations were: "Living Wealthy or Healthy" and "The World of Waste Materials"

After the conference we organized interesting programmes and activities for students, like creating a bird-feeder from plastic bottles, tasting home-made jams, "green food" dinner and a quiz on climate change.

Other programmes of the "Green Week"

Day of Green Arts: the students had to search for literature works (poems, novels, etc.) that are in connection with nature.

Day of Green Fashion: the students had to dress up in green clothes.

Day of Green Drawings: the students had to draw pictures entitled "Planet Earth in 2050". We held an exhibition in our school hall.

Make it Green: we planted trees and plants and built a composting container in the school yard. In honor of the GREEEN Project we planted a native tree called Hungarian ash tree.

Five-six students from all classes participated in the activities. They learned how to live a healthy way of life and how to protect the plants and the environment. The programme pinpoints the connection between different type of subjects.
